Climate
Attributes :
The climate governs the three crucial
variables of temperature: Water, wind and light that are necessary for
the vines . All three are essential in moderation. The region is Semi
arid Mediterranean climate with a moderately long dry period.

Sunshine
and Temperature
Our vineyards are exposed to almost 2,600 hours
of sunshine yearly distributed in an even matter from April to September
in an average of 12 hours each day. The sunshine benefits our grapes during
their growing period and affects grape maturation. Normally the disparity
of temperature is between 5 to 18ºC in winter and 16 to 35ºC
degrees in summer.
Rainfall:
The annual precipitation rate does not exceed 650
mm/year distributed mainly during December to March and rarely in April.
This short period followed by the dry season reduce leaching of basic
cations, retard mineral weathering, and allow accumulation of soluble
salts. In general the weather condition affects the soil morphology where
our vineyards are grown, and in turn affects the quality of our wine.
What’s in the wind?
The
location of vineyards at the bottom of the Barouk Mountain is susceptible
to wind. The turbulence in the atmosphere above the Mediterranean generates
winds that funnel down the Western Bekaa Valley almost all the year. This
affects the pruning of our vineyards, which are cut low to help them withstand
the onslaught of the wind.
